TODAY IS A GOOD DAY
I think my last post mentioned the class I'm taking at work. Well, it's a Certified Manager (CM) class. When I sent in my application, I was told that I didn't have enough work experience to become a CM but I could still take the class and the exams and just be an associate CM. Well, unbeknownst to me, the people who teach the class contacted the administrators of the course and told them that was unacceptable. I was told to get a reference letter from my manager and forward of a copy of my resume. I did so and found out this morning, that they upgraded my status. After passing my exams, I will be a full-fledged CM and not just an associate! It's so wonderful when you have people going to bat for you without even asking. I'm the youngest person in my class, by at least ten years, so they won't be able to tell me anything once I get my certification. *note to self - read this week's chapter tonight so you don't wind up the youngest person to FLUNK the tests, LOL*
GeckoBro was in town over the weekend and a good time was had by all. I stayed up way too late talking to him on Thursday night but I slept in on Friday so I guess it didn't matter. I got all my errands done on Friday too. Errands aren't nearly as mundane when you have company. We moseyed over to a dealership as well as a new subdivision. I wasn't feeling the houses but after much ado (if you know me, you know I've been trying to decide on a car for over a year), I decided on the car I want. They didn't have any in stock so who knows when I'll be able to take a test drive but no worries because I won't actually buy the car until after we buy another house. I must say, I'm just a wee bit excited though. It's a convertible so I plan to buy Jackie O sunglasses, driving gloves and a colorful scarf that will blow in the wind (a la 1950s film star). I have to think of a name for her though (all my vehicles are female). My current car's name is rather blah. I want something with a little pizzazz. That reminds me that I never thought of a name for my current bike. The old one had a Japanese name (since it was a Japanese bike). Maybe I'll do the same for this one.
GeckoBro wants my old car so that he can trick it out. I think he's been watching too much Pimp My Ride - LOL. While I don't want a tricked out car, he came to the conclusion that I want a car that's "fresh". Nothing too flashy or crazy, but not ordinary either. Something that turns heads but you're not sure why. Maybe some color sanding and some nice wheels, no monogrammed headrests though. That said, I need to get back to work. I'll try to blog again before the week is out but I'm not making any promises. I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day!
