MIDWEEK MEME

I'm lacking creativity today so I decided to a 100 things post.

1. I have lived in six states.


2. One of those states was Alaska.


3. Incidentally, I have been to six foreign countries (gotta get that number up).


4. I like to sample the local fare whenever I travel somewhere new even though I can be a bit of a picky eater.


5. I LOVE ranch dressing - I eat it on everything from wings to pizza to baked potatoes to lasagna.


6. Italian food is my favorite.


7. I like to eat but I DON'T like to cook.


8. I USED to like writing. I went a fine arts school from 7th to 9th grades and stopped liking it. (Can 13 year olds burn out? Being forced to write sonnets, in iambic pentameter no less, can do that to a child.)


9. I thought the school was going to be like Fame but it wasn't.


10. My parents made me stay two more years anyway.


11. I've dabbled in all five of the "fine arts" that were taught there - drama, music, dance, art and writing.


12. I believe I am a dilettante.


13. I name my cars and my bikes - Demon Box (it had another name before that but I can't remember it), Jade, Murasaki Ame and Genkou.


14. I have a really good memory. I remember details of when, where and how I met most people as well as what was said. My "visual memory" is best though. If I'm telling you about an article I read, I can visualize where it was on the newspaper page. Whenever I took tests in school, I could remember information by visualizing where I'd written it in my notes or where I'd seen it in the textbook.


15. I don’t have a problem splurging on other people but I rarely splurge on things for myself.


16. Therefore, I get my family to buy me all things I want but won’t buy for myself.


17. The one thing I have no problem spending money on is travel.


18. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to travel.


19. I probably take 12 trips a year (including business travel).


20. I probably spend too much money on travel (maybe $5000/yr or more) but I refuse to stop.


21. I love all things French.


22. I hope to become fluent in French one day.


23. My middle name is French.


24. It frustrates me when I’m not good at something even if it’s my first attempt.
    


25. I’m also VERY impatient.


26. One of the reasons I love jezchill is that he’s very patient and puts up with my impatience.


27. I am trying to have more patience.


28. I have a short attention span and get bored easily.


29. That's why I'm so sporadic with going to the gym.


30. I think I could stand to gain 7-10 pounds.


31. Gaining (good) weight is harder than people think.


32. My brother tells me to stop trying to work out so I won't end up looking like Angela Bassett in What's Love Got to Do With It.


33. I don't think there's any danger of that happening. My chest, back and legs get stronger but never my arms.


34. I have chicken arms but I've always had nice legs.


35. From about junior high on, men and women have complimented me on my legs.



36. That only fueled my vanity.


37. My parents (especially my dad) sparked the fire though. I don't think parents realize how important it is to compliment their children. My dad always had me thinking I was the hottest thing around.


38. I think I have the best dad in the world. Seriously.


39. I'm bored with this list already.


40. I'm going to finish this list later.
